Tests and Texts Divided The Housewives of New Jersey

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Last Week’s episode of the Housewives of New Jersey the feud was reignited between the two Joe G’s as Teresa launched her new book tour and signings.  It seemed everyone had the entrepreneurial spirit as the Lauren and the Manzo brothers each embarked on their separate business ventures embarking on new careers and Kathy organized a big shebang for Rich.

The episode begins with the Manzo boys embarking on a new business venture with a new company that is owned by their Uncle Chris. their new office is at New Star PR where Albie and Chris find their first client a company they want to work with called Black Water.  the group found the concept interesting since the water is in fact black and feels as a new upcoming company their creativity and freedom can help a company that is also relatively new and growing can promote them effectively.

Meanwhile, at the Wakile’s surprises is the name of the game when Kathy plans one for Rich, a surprise birthday party that is. But it’s not much of a surprise because Kathy can’t seem to keep anything from Rich.  Kathy and Rich begin discussing the topic they can’t stop obsessing about Teresa and Rich asks Kathy how the goddess party went with Teresa there. Kathy tells Rich that Teresa informed the group that Joe and her are opening a restaurant as well.  Rich doesn’t take the idea well and scoffs at Teresa and her whole family. It’s obvious she wasn’t invited to it, but the rest of the housewives were and show them all getting ready for it in their respective houses.

At the Gorgas, Melissa thinks trashy is classy as she showcase’s her best Jerseylicious wardrobe that proves sometimes less isn’t always more as her husband ogles her body once again objectifying her as only that. It’s getting kind of gross but Joe thinks she looks beautiful.  Melissa tells Joe she had a good time with Caroline and Jacqueline but again Teresa rained on everyone’s parade when she got into with Melissa once again bringing up the past, and Melissa’s wrongdoings and seems still surprised by the fact that Melissa could sing and is pursuing a career, so am I.  Melissa answers this by telling the camera she’s never seen Teresa cook and doesn’t know if she can but either way she keeps her mouth shut and supports her. Joey tells Melissa that Teresa is a jealous person and can’t accept it when the attention is on somebody else or when others are doing well in life.

Finally, it’s time to party and Caroline, Lauren, Jacqueline and Chris join the Wakiles and the Gorgas celebrate at a Lebanese Hookah restaurant where Caroline and Lauren wonder where the bread is and the get the munchies and more after getting high on hookah. Richie proceeds to dis Melissa dancing skills by saying she doesn’t have any. Melissa then proceeds to take to the dance floor throwing money at the scantily- clad belly dancers and Jacqueline joins in on the fun saying there’s more where that came from. Melissa unknowingly and jokingly calls the kettle black when she says Jacqueline is a “closet whore”.  Kathy and Rich get stoned and make out. Joe is after a particular part of Melissa’s anatomy when she he says he wants to smell her armpit.

The action and partying continues a few days later when Lauren has a grand opening for her store Chateau a salon and spa. Besides the imminent celebration the question that’s on everyone’s mind is did Ashley come through for Lauren and has she changed, the answer yes and no.

Jacqueline asks Lauren if Ashley came through with her design for the T-shirts. Lauren tells Jacqueline sort of, she created a design for the shirts which is a girl in front of a mirror surrounded by makeup brushes but dropped the ball and didn’t get the design on the t-shirts in time so Lauren had to do it herself.  Ashley shows up late as usual and thinks she really applied herself and is proud of her accomplishment and Jacqueline says she is proud of her too but it seems like Ashley still has one foot out the door where Jacqueline is concerned. when Lauren sees Ashley her look of disappointment says it all.

Later as Jacqueline and Teresa are talking, Teresa asks Jacqueline what is going on with Ashley and asks her if Ashley is coming to Punta Cana. Jacqueline says she’s not sure what’s going on as her relationship with Ashley seems to be getting more strained and they can’t stand to be around each other anymore. Teresa tells Jacqueline maybe Ashley needs to be away from her.

A food-shopping excursion Teresa takes with baby Audriana and six-year old Milania then provides entertainment.  While shopping, the camera cuts to Teresa talking about the fact that she cooks for family every night and how much she loves to do it and the success of her books, she emphasizes all the food she cooks is healthy until they head to the frozen foods aisle where she tries to appease a cranky Milania by saying she can pick what ever high calorie, cholesterol laden frozen confection she wants and suggests the cocktail franks.

Speaking of frank, Teresa calls her brother and tries to bury the ever-present hatchet once again by inviting him to her book signing for “Skinny Italian”. Brother Joe agrees to come and says he was just waiting for an invitation.

Later however, the fur begins to fly when brother Joe tells Melissa that he received threatening texts from Teresa’s husband Joe Guidice. Saying he better not come to the book signing, he’s fake and doing this just for show and if he does show up he’’ break his jaw. Melissa tells Joe if anyone has been keeping Teresa and him apart it’s her husband.

Later Teresa heads to her book signing and looks for a friendly face among the crowd, namely her brother.  the line seems to be growing and just as fast as the crowd came they leave. With virtually no one else in the store and the obvious fact that Teresa is not leaving until her brother shows up gets surprised by unexpected guests. the lucky couple Kathy and Rich they come by to congratulate Teresa and also find out the skinny on whether or not Joe Gorga shown up. Not to make that fact obvious, they buy Teresa’s book ask her to sign it and then leave.

As Teresa’s finally ready to leave Joe and Melissa Gorga show up. Joe who seems excited buys a stack of at least ten books and asks Teresa to sign them. there is only one problem however; Teresa has no clue what to say or if she has anything to say at all.  Joe tells her just write from her heart she then writes, “ I love you more than anything in the world, I miss my brother. After a quick hug with her brother, Joe drops the bomb that her husband has been threatening him with violent texts and doesn’t appreciate it when he’s trying to mend his relationship with her.  Teresa tries to defend her husband by saying Joe is upset that her brother has never come to one of her book signings.  Melissa says that’s because the pair was never invited before and Teresa says that’s not true she invited them on Face book. Melissa says that’s not the kind of invitation she wants she wants to be personally invited.

Will the feud between the Joe G’s ever end? Will Ashley learn what responsibility really is? And will Caroline ever cut the apron strings.  Tune in next week to find out what happens.

'Homeland' review: A soldier comes home, but is he now a terrorist?

Friday, September 30th, 2011

When the FBI essentially creates a terrorist in order to arrest him, have we really accomplished anything?

In “Homeland,” debuting Sunday (Oct. 2) on Showtime, Danes plays a CIA analyst with big-time doubts about a just-released prisoner of war.

But not a Forest Service gate, a Homeland Security gate. no notice, no public meeting, no explanation, no access. this is what Rep. Denny Rehberg wants. He is supporting HR 1505, a bill that will allow the Department of Homeland Security to circumvent
